JOB TITLE - DIRECTOR OF ANALYTICS, CAPACITY PLANNING AND INVENTORY REPLACEMENTKey Responsibilities: - Capacity Planning: Lead and develop analytics strategies to assess and optimize capacity planning across the North American Operations Network, ensuring that production and distribution facilities are aligned with demand forecasts.
- Inventory Placement Optimization: Utilize advanced data analytics and modeling techniques to optimize inventory placement across various distribution centers and warehouses, balancing demand, lead times, and cost considerations to improve service levels and reduce excess inventory.
- Unit Forecasting & Trend Analysis: Work closely with sales, marketing, and planning teams to gather insights and incorporate them into unit forecasting models. Use historical data, machine learning, and other modeling tools to predict future unit forecasting for the operations network.
- Data-Driven Insights & Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide leadership with real-time, actionable insights into inventory levels, capacity constraints, order fulfillment rates, and potential bottlenecks. Ensure data accuracy and reliability for decision-making.
- Supply Chain Simulation & Scenario Planning: Develop and implement models to simulate different supply chain scenarios (e.g., changes in demand, disruptions in supply, new product launches) and provide recommendations for the most cost-effective solutions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders in supply chain, operations, Technology, and planning to align on capacity planning goals and inventory placement strategies. Collaborate with teams to implement solutions that improve end-to-end supply chain performance.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency Gains: Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management and capacity planning processes, using data to streamline operations and reduce costs. Leverage new technologies or tools to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Supply Chain Network Design: Contribute to the design and optimization of the supply chain network by identifying opportunities for better inventory placement, new distribution center locations, and improvements in transportation and logistics.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of business analysts and supply chain professionals. Provide coaching and development opportunities to help team members build analytical skills and expertise.
- Vendor & External Data Integration: Work with third-party logistics providers, suppliers, and external data sources to incorporate external insights (e.g., shipping lead times, demand trends) into capacity planning and inventory placement decisions.Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in supply chain analytics, operations research, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing capacity planning and inventory placement strategies in a large-scale, global supply chain environment.
- Analytical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in data analytics, statistical modeling, forecasting techniques, and optimization tools. Experience with simulation tools and scenario analysis for supply chain modeling is highly desired.
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Strong understanding of supply chain fundamentals, including inventory management, demand forecasting, distribution strategies, and network optimization. Experience with lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with supply chain analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), forecasting tools, and advanced Excel modeling. Familiarity with data mining and BI Tools (SQL, Redshift, Micro
Strategy, Power BI, etc.) - Problem Solving & Decision-Making: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, results-oriented manner.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data and complex analytics into clear, concise business recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is highly preferred.
