Here, our flagship brand experience begins in the Gratitude--- Room, where guests experience a living museum showcasing the extraordinary person featured on our latest Sergeant's Valor Gratitude--- Series offering. Once through the Gratitude--- Room, guests will participate in a well-executed and thoughtful campus journey while sipping samples of our premium and super-premium spirits. Once guests experience the plant, guests enjoy cocktails and light tasting fare, and may stop into our dedicated retail space to purchase take home bottles and merchandise. Our bar and private multipurpose space offer an inclusive and upscale yet casual atmosphere for our multigenerational local, military, golf, equestrian and tourist community. At BHAWK we will host a variety of small and tailored group experiences, single barrel offerings, VIP Club, and private events. Our small facility, where we will build our brand and culture, was designed by world renowned luxury resort architect, Mr. Tag Galyean. In Year 1 we will distribute throughout North Carolina on and off premise, and on NC military installations. Once we have a foothold in distribution in North Carolina, in years 2-5 we will work our way into regional distribution market by market (SC, VA, TN, KY, DC, FL and their military installations). By year five, we project to be in 10 markets and will strive to bring value to spirit enthusiasts across the Southeast! Line Cook This is a FULL-TIME non-exempt position pursuant to the NC Wage and Hour Act. Overall Responsibilities Line Cook Line Cooks will be responsible for daily prep operations ranging from garnish to dessert, inventory & date control, basic cooking & equipment operation, and sanitization based on food safety standards. Line Cooks/ Basic Prep employees may be asked to do basic tasks to prep, or run food for our cocktail bar, on our patios, and in our private event spaces, where we will serve our premium spirits, beer, wine, and offer a tailored menu to enhance the spirits experience. Line Cooks are encouraged to submit creative ideas and work with teammates to successfully create an unparalleled tasting and dining experience. Strives to continually improve guest experience, maximize back of house financial performance, and adhere to food/safety policies. Mentor and use any previous experience in a valuable way to foster teamwork, provide excellent guest service and anticipate guest needs to exceed expectation. Tour and tasting experiences must be executed to leave a positive and lasting impression about BHAWK distillery, our premium spirits, Veterans and military Family members, the Town of Southern Pines, and the State of NC. Our guides build brand loyalty by living BHAWK's cultural values and attributes. Main Responsibilities : Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cook food items by grilling, frying, saut--ing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. Follow the prep list created to plan duties. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible. Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking. Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food. Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash. Produce food that is top quality, and the kitchen and equipment are kept in good condition Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can approve upon the kitchen's performance Contribute to menu planning and help explore new ideas Help receive weekly shipments and positively impact inventory. Contribute to creative kitchen budgeting practices. Ex: Cross utilizing ingredients, storage solutions, creating specials from under-utilized ingredients etc. Work events such as weddings or corporate events that may happen during off days. Understands impact of bar/restaurant on overall distillery financial goals/objectives; manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals Participates in developing special events and programs to value to guests and to generate revenue (Club 62, Spirits of the Pines, other programs, and experiences) Participates as a leader in building and sustaining a culture centered on Gratitude for Extraordinary service, exceptional guest care, caring deeply about teammates, and being brand ambassadors of BHAWK, Southern Pines, and the military community Fosters team environment across directorates Mentor team, use any previous experience to help lead the kitchen to success as a whole Seeks self-improvement and growth Tends bar and fulfills responsibilities wherever they might arise throughout a shift (running food, running drinks, bartending, cooking, serving, tour guiding, cleaning, retail shop coverage, etc.) Operating Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Friday Sat 10 a.m. - midnight; Sunday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. This is a full-time position averaging a minimum of 5 shifts a week, remaining particularly flexible during BHAWK's initial start-up months. There are opportunities for additional hours and special projects as they become available, including private events, and bottling shifts.
