OVERVIEW:

The focus of the Senior Logistics Analyst is to apply knowledge of Parcel & eCommerce Logistics to deliver meaningful changes in how DICK'S leverages logistics strategy, analyses and reporting to drive financial savings opportunities. This position is responsible for managing logistics projects and data analyses focused on freight expense, Ship to Home program profitability, and cost and process optimization, through cross-functional collaboration and leadership.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead projects from ideation to execution focused on improving the athlete experience, providing organized project plans and developing support materials.

  • The ability to size opportunity is critical. The Senior Logistics Analyst will need to effectively use data to find what will make the biggest impact while also considering the complexity of execution and potential cross-over impact to internal and/or external partners
  • Independently analyze large amounts of data to optimize shipping processes and metrics and identify opportunities to improve shipping expense, SKU profitability, accuracy, and speed to customer.
  • Drive process change through exception management reporting and analytics.

Lead the strategy and design of freight audit and spend management needs for Parcel & eCommerce Logistics

  • Manage the relationship with the spend management vendor
  • Proactively analyze financials to improve profitability
  • Lead projects and provide direction to explore strategic opportunities that mitigate costs and optimize processes to drive performance metrics
  • Develop and enhance financial reporting and dashboarding visibility with spend management provider to monitor financial metric performance and identify opportunities for improvement

The role leads one Logistics Analyst supporting the operations, KPI metrics, financial reporting, and project tasks for Parcel & eCommerce Logistics, including professional development.

Build and maintain exceptional cross-functional relationships and partnerships to develop actionable strategies and tactics and influence change

  • Work with leadership across the organization in key areas such as supply chain, finance, ship to home fulfillment, store operations, etc. to gain strategic buy-in and enable the execution of strategies
  • Provide support and direction to internal business partners facilitating strategic discussions and decisions driven by operations, analytics, and reporting.
  • Develop and execute peak season plans and determine measures of success.
  • Communicate with clear and compelling information that is used to make decisions across the organization, within the department and with key cross-functional stakeholders, including senior leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 4 year college degree with a focus in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics

  • 3-5 years Supply Chain professional experience including systems, reporting and project management.

  • Experience with FedEx Automation Solutions (Toolbox, Ship Manager, Insight, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, IBM Cognos reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Intera / Qlik

  • Customer/athlete focused with strong interpersonal and team building skills including the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization in written, verbal, and in presentations

  • Skilled at handling multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously

  • Knowledge of the Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation industries, preferably related to Parcel & eCommerce

  • Ability to analyze large amounts of raw data to draw insight and summarize into clear, accurate, meaningful, value-added reports and presentations

  • Ability to effectively collaborate across the enterprise and establish and maintain strong partnerships

  • Keen intellectual curiosity and passion for continuous improvement
