Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Brew & Ole's Gastropub. As the Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality food and maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen environment. This position is ideal for a passionate culinary professional with leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. Key Responsibilities: Kitchen Management: Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared according to the restaurant's standards and within health and safety regulations. Menu Execution: Help with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes as per the menu, ensuring consistency in quality and taste. Staff Supervision: Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, ensuring they follow proper procedures and maintain a high standard of hygiene and food safety. Inventory & Ordering: Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained and stocked. Quality Control: Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and plating to ensure the highest standards are met, and address any issues as they arise. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef and other team members to create a positive, cooperative work environment that fosters communication and teamwork. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to food safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and proper sanitation procedures. Special Events & Catering: Assist with the planning and execution of special events, private dining, and catering services when necessary. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role in a high-volume restaurant or kitchen. Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and culinary techniques. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask under pressure. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Passion for cooking, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to collaborate effectively with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain smooth service operations.
