OVERVIEW: The Assistant Buyer assists their Buyer/Senior Buyer with the in-depth development of merchandise assortments by category, collaborating on every aspect of the process. They also research economic, financial, market, competitive and industry data to explain current business trends and anticipate new trends or big ideas. Job Duties & Responsibilities % of Time Accurately execute the tasks associated with new line delivery (style setup/creation, PO writing, etc.). Ensure accuracy of merchandising reports, assortment sheets, and receipts. Communicate effectively with vendors to secure item level data for style creation/advertising. 50% Assist the buyers in the in-depth development of merchandise assortments by category, collaborating on every aspect of the process. Sit with the buyer to go through the Merchandise Assortment Process and apply financials. Recommend and communicate inventory quantities and allocations to Buyer in support of planned sales for our strategic initiatives. 20% Monitor performance of product category in-season. This includes identifying opportunities and barriers and making recommendations to drive for business results (buy more of/cancel future orders/price changes). 10% Research economic, financial, market, competitive and industry data to explain current business trends and anticipate new trends or big ideas, including local competitive market visits. 10% Work cross-functionally with Visual, eCommerce, AR, Planning, Pricing, Marketing and Store Ops to ensure the product vision for the category comes to life in-store, online and in advertising for the target athlete. 10% QUALIFICATIONS: |
